In 1885, Nashville's first professional baseball team, the Nashville Americans, began a long history of professional baseball in Nashville.  At various times, the Sounds have been affiliated with the New York Yankees, Detroit Tigers, Cincinnati Reds, Chicago White Sox, Pittsburgh Pirates, and currently the Milwaukee Brewers.

On April 26, 1978, the Sounds played their first home game at Greer Stadium with a win over the Savannah Braves.

And the rest, as they say, is history.

Many wonder what the future of the Sounds organization holds.  Will the team build a new stadium in downtown Nashville or will they continue to make Greer Stadium their home.

Either way, Nashville will be proud to call the Sounds their own for many years to come.

Thank you Sounds Baseball for all you have done for this town and community.
